Covid-19 Update from the Parish Priest
According to government guidelines, places of worship are now permitted to open for individual private prayer, whilst maintaining social distancing. We are not yet allowed to start having public services, however. In the first instance, the church will be open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 3 till 5 pm, to allow people the chance to visit, pray, light candles and leave prayer requests and lists of names for commemoration.
In order for the church to be open, we are required to have volunteers on duty, supervising visitors in church. Please abide by the instructions on the door any further directions given by the volunteers who are there to ensure your visit is peaceful and safe. We have received a message from Bishop Matthew blessing the church to open in this way, but asking that we continue to encourage vulnerable people to stay at home.
