The parish's Sunday school programme runs weekly, following the celebration of the Divine Liturgy. The children are divided into two groups: a younger children's group (ages 3 to 7) which meets for a story and activities at the back of St Giles' Hall, and 'The Sunday Club'- a group for older children (ages 8-12) which meets in the little annexe also in the Hall.
The two groups meet about twenty minutes after the conclusion of the Liturgy according to the following pattern:
-
- first and third Sundays of the month - two groups separately with their respective teachers
- second Sunday of the month, the usual time for our monthly parish lunch - both groups are invited to watch a quality children's film shown in the adjacent annexe.
- fourth Sunday of the month - both groups meet together in the annexe to be taught by one of the clergy.
Teenagers have their own monthly programme, as detailed on the Youth Group page. All children are invited to join the groups for Sunday school whenever they are in church—and parents are especially encouraged to bring their children regularly to Sunday school so that they are able to participate week-to-week in the theme and activities. The Sunday school programme is organised by a small committee of parents and volunteers. If you would like more information on the programme, the age groups, if you've any questions about starting your child in the Sunday school, or if you think you might be interested in helping teach in the Sunday school from time to time, please contact Anna Platt, either by e-mail or telephone on (01865) 768 748.
