Arrangements for a baptism are made directly with the priest, Fr Stephen Platt. If at all possible, it is best to come to church and discuss your situation with him face to face after the service.
If you live far from Oxford, or want to make a preliminary enquiry, you can use the form below. Please state clearly in the 'Message' part of the form the child's sex, age, given name and your preferred date for the baptism.
Baptisms tend to take place on Saturday afternoons between 2 pm and 4 pm or Sundays after the Divine Liturgy from approx. 1.30 pm. Baptisms in the week are also possible if there are no other services scheduled and the priest is available. You can consult the Timetable of Services to find out whether there is service in the church on the day you want the baptism to take place.
You may also want to familiarise yourself with this Guide to Orthodox Baptism which should answer many of the general questions you may have about the sacrament.

Fr Stephen will get in touch with you to discuss all the arrangements and to confirm the date and time. Please wait for this confirmation, before making any other arrangements, such as informing your friends and family, planning a christening party etc.

The Church does not 'sell' sacraments, so no specific fee is charged by the priest to perform the baptism. However, it is customary to make an offering to the priest and/or the church as a sign of gratitude. The value of this offering should be commeasurable with the family's financial situation but should not, as a guide, be significantly less than what is spent on the social aspects of the event, such as the christening party, gifts to the godparents etc.
